Hydra Manufacturing Named Finalist for Formnext Start-up Award 2026

Hydra Manufacturing has been named one of five finalists for the Formnext Start-up Award 2026.

The award recognises young additive manufacturing companies with viable business models. Hydra has been shortlisted for CHAMP, our hybrid manufacturing platform for technical ceramics and hardmetals.

The Technology Behind Our Nomination

Manufacturing complex ceramic components can be challenging, particularly when precise geometries and high-quality surface finishes are required.

CHAMP combines paste extrusion with precision machining while the ceramic material is still in its green state. The system also incorporates in-process inspection, allowing defects to be identified and corrected during manufacturing.

The technology is being developed for industrial applications where conventional manufacturing methods can limit component design or material selection.
