Who are we?
Based at the University of Leeds, we are a team of engineers researching advanced manufacturing systems.
Our flagship model, CHAMP, not only demonstrates the capabilities of next-gen Hybrid Machinery but realises the true potential of Additive Manufacturing for Ceramic materials.
Louis Masters
CEO
Ambitious and diligent leader, with start-up training from ConceptionX’s accelerator programme and NAMIC’s innovation forum. Louis is also a process expert, his PhD research developed an AI-driven, closed-loop defect correction system for the CHAMP for defect-free ceramics manufacturing.
Matthew Shuttleworth
CTO
An expert machine builder with over 10 years’ experience in designing and building digital manufacturing equipment. A specialist in hardware and software integration, Matthew has dedicated his career to developing hybrid machinery and led the CHAMP project.
Dan Davie
Applications Engineer
A talented designer and experienced user of the CHAMP. With a background in mechanical engineering and a keen interest in applied science, Dan is focussed on innovative applications of advanced materials, enabled by the hybrid method and industrial collaboration.
Mateusz Gora
Product Engineer
Cutting edge researcher in virtual environments and digital twins for motion planning and process control. Mateusz brings prior experience in the additive manufacturing sector through founding a 3D printing bureau, and university research in automated manufacturing systems.
Robert Kay
Chairman
Professor of Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Leeds, with over 25 years’ experience in digitally-driven and hybrid processes. Robert has previous start-up experience via Microstencil, commercialising his PhD research, and an extensive network in both academia and industry.
